How OpusTel works
The OpusTel app works with a personal Swiss phone number ( landline fixnet ) on your smartphone ( apple iOS and Android ).
Calls are transmitted encrypted via the Internet and are therefore without roaming costs.
Skype alternative: OpusTel to OpusTel app phone calls are free and encrypted.
Phone calls to other phone numbers than OpusTel numbers are very low cost. Incomming calls are allways free.
OpusTel is an Internet provider-independent telephone solution for CHF 4.80 per month (about USD 5) and can be canceled at any time. You can no longer make or receive calls without credit ( prepaid ).
The credit never expires. Amounts over CHF 100.00 are subject to 3% annual interest in favor of the customer.
There is no obligation to make additional payments.

OpusTel is not a closed user group, because a personal international phone number is used.
With OpusTel you can be reached worldwide free of charge, regardless of the SIM card, from the public telephone network on your phone number. OpusTel has no roaming costs. Incoming calls are allways free worldwide.
That's why the OpusTel app can be used in combination with much cheaper 4G, 5G and/or WLAN wifi solutions to reduce monthly costs. The greatest savings potential can be achieved with 4G or 5G Mobile Data Internet access (without telephone minutes that expire almost always unused every month and have to be paid for again next month).
Switching Your current mobile number to “prepaid” reduces costs to CHF 0.00 per month.
With the world class OpusTel app, phone calls are much cheaper than calls with mobile numbers (5 to 10 times cheaper).
Many customers make much cheaper calls with OpusTel and use WhatsApp free of charge for calls with friends. Calls between OpusTel apps are also free worldwide but with privacy. Calls to external phone numbers with the OpusTel app are 5 to 10 times cheaper worldwide than conventional mobile calls with mobile numbers.
The savings potential is up to swiss francs 1'000 per year. There are international 4G and 5G providers without a mobile number from CHF 4.50 for up to 90 days of 4G Internet access (for example https://www.keepgo.com. )
An alternative global e-SIM solution is available from swiss francs 10 to swiss francs 33 prepaid for 5 GB or unlimited per month.

During the registration process at https://www.opustel.ch/en/order , you can select a Swiss landline / fixnet phone number in your preferred area code region (e.g. 041). On request via the contact form ( https://www.opustel.ch/en/contact ), you can also use an existing landline number (move from your provider to us). The OpusTel landline phone number is an additional phone number on your smartphone and can be used worldwide.
With this phone number you can make tap-proof and cheap calls, https://opustel.ch/en/contact . You can continue to use the cell phone provider's number as required. You can use the cell phone number or the OpusTel number as a second number without needing two SIM cards.
Swiss mobile numbers can be rerouted with service 21 to the OpusTel phone number to eliminate roaming costs abroad.
Example: Open the mobile phone app with the mobile phone number and enter **21*0041yournumber# and call. This reroutes Your mobile number to Your OpusTel App number and prevents You from roaming costs from incomming calls abroad.
OpusTel calls are transmitted via WLAN (wifi) or the mobile data network (4G/5G). A good Internet connection is required.
The sound quality is then excellent, i.e. in HD (High Definition) quality: pleasant and not tiring.
